Cork Harbour is reputed to be the second largest natural harbour in the world.

Cork Harbour Marina is located in the picturesque Victorian village of Monkstown

in one of the most sheltered parts of Cork Harbour.

Today Cork Harbour Marina is a 90 berth facility. Phase Two will increase the marina's capacity to 280 berths.

From the 1700s Monkstown has been identified by marine leisure groups as an ideal location to base their activities and berth their boats. A yacht club was first formed in 1870 with a history of moored boats in the Bay long before that. Presently there is a strong sailing club and rowing club operating in Monkstown.

Monkstown has a number of very popular walking routes, with bars and restaurants located in the town centre. Monkstown is also just a short riverside walk away from Passage West, a large town with all the amenities one might require (Supermarket, Chemist,  Post office, etc.).
